Hannah Blum studied music at the University of Hildesheim, majoring in music, as well as in Business Administration. From Northern Germany she was drawn to Northern Italy, where she studied Discipline delle Arte, della Musica e dello Spettacolo at the Università di Bologna along with continued Flute Studies in the class of Annamaria Morini at the city’s conservatory. During her studies, she was already engaged at the International Festival for Young Opera Singers at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg and gained further professional experiences at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, the Oper Leipzig, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and the Semperoper Dresden. She began her official tenure at the Semperoper Dresden in 2009/10 season taking on the role of Assistant to the Director of Artistic Operations. In the following years, she worked there as the Director of Artistic Productions. From the 2019/20 season on, her main focus as Assistant to the Director of Artistic Operations has been casting. In her new position as Deputy Director of Artistic Operations, Hannah Blum has taken over Casting in the team of General Director Nora Schmid at the Semperoper Dresden.
